Sastasha
Sastasha home to the Serpent Reavers A deadly band of Kidnapping pirates, along with fearsome sea creatures to help detour anyone that's looking in with too much interest.
The cave is split up into 4 main parts Sastasha Seagrot,The Cattery,Dead Man's Drink and Mistbeard Cove
and so let's venture forth and see what we could find...ehhhh eventually.. First we need to go over this caves history which surprisingly there quite abit, And instead so we dive into the aged worn pages of Sastasha's history.
Soooo... its a cave.. and like most caves its been there for awhile, and though it may come to no surpise to any of you, but it was the Sahagin that used this cave first, it was called "many shells" a rough translation on my part, and they used it as they're spawning grounds, and this continued almost up to the seventh Umbral Calamity if it were not for the pirate Mistbeard.
"Alas he will have to have his own chapter for there is too much to cover and it would take way from our subject matter"
Why did any of this matter? Well it was Mistbeard drove out the Sahagin of Sastasha and most of Vylbrand
they ended up using Sastasha as a base to build more ships, living quarters and even a tavern, pretty much a thriving port until 1555 of the Sixth Astral Era when that current Mistbeard vanished and the port fell into disrepair and Desolace... for a little bit, and so we have cave now that is well suited for new occupancy.
And who do we think moved in??? if you guessed a Cult your right!
Shortly before the Calamity happened Sastasha was playing host to a Cult called the Lambs of Dalamund.
they were a cult centered around Dalamund desending and they worshiped it as a god sacrificing people to it.
and well... thats what they were doing here, it was reported that a person named Addison would go around
telling adventureers that his daughter was kidnapped and taken to the coves, now this was a ploy to get
adventurers to go there and be captured and sacrificed but a certain group was able to put an end to that scheme. And now we can finally talk about the present! The Calamity during this event the spawning grounds of the
Sahagin were pretty much Distroyed and since then the Sahagin been aggressive in seizing back land,
and to help them in this task they have the Serpent Reavers a group of pirates enthralled to the Sahagin's god
and carry out alot of the kidnapping and crystal theft that goes on.
Norria and I were tasked with investigating the cave and the kidnaping of the people of Aleport.
The first thing you notice when you enter this cave is that the Aether is highly sked towards the water element

I feel sorry for any Thaumaturge who try's to cast any fire spell "must be highly taxing" this much aspect Aether is not naturally occurring and the wild life here seem to been driven to aggression due to it.

Upon wading through the creatures and critters that inhabit this place, we came across a false wall and upon solving it we were attack by a trained courel, we're on the right track.
We found pirate patrolling the area, we deftly dispatched them and proceeded into a larger chamber.

We found what looked like a tavern full ill gotten gains and crates full of blue Aether crystals this explains the highly condense water Aether in this cave.
We searched the area and on some of the pirates we found a key to procced to the next chamber.
Only to come face to face with the pirate captain himself Addison!
we were engaged immediately, after the tides started to turn in or favor he called upon his pet dogs to attacks us while he escaped! I was able to put them asleep with a spell but the captain was already gone. we follow his trail to a large anti chamber and he was yelling for help and a giant Sahagin leaps from the water from the mouth of this cove and attacks us

Twas a long found battle with more and more Sahagin joined the fight but between Norria's marital prowess and my magics and healing we weathered the storm but the captain was already gone.
not else to do but notify the yellowjackets to collect the crystals and stolen goods.
And with that our first major assignment with the adventure guild was completed, there's still a great many things I need to research about this cave, the effect of the Aether on the creatures is of great interest to me but it's going to have to wait, I've gotten a lead that there are rising dead in Gridania and I long since been wanting to study what type of environment twists Aether so much that it can bring back the dead.
